Robert Payton Reid (1859-1945) was an Edinburgh-based artist. He trained in Edinburgh and then in Munich and Paris in the 1880s. A member of the Royal Scottish Academy, Reid traveled extensively through Europe during his career. His paintings of landscapes and figures reflect his widespread travels and awareness of issues of the day.
