David Bates

David Bates was attracted to the scenery of North Wales. He painted pleasant naturalistic landscapes, truthful in detail but often idealized. From 1868 to 1893, he exhibited his works at the Royal Academy, Suffolk Street, the Grafton Gallery and the New Watercolor Society.
