Oliver Clare

Born 1853 Died 1927

Oliver Clare was a popular painter who specialized in still life subjects of fruit and flowers. He was the son of George Clare. He exhibited works at the Royal Academy and the Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street. He and his brother Vincent, also a still life painter, probably worked mainly in Birmingham. His paintings are very similar to those of his father, both in technique and style.
